Awesome Speaker

For the show 'Awesome Speaker,' I designed the stage as a 'dynamic architecture' that could dance with ideas. Through precisely programmed industrial robotic arms combined with screen modules, it transformed the abstract power of language into tangible, ever-reconfiguring visual forms that interacted with the speaker's content.

About
The Kinetic Architecture of Speech
For a show centered on a speaker, the key design challenge is to have the stage transcend its role as a static backdrop and create a dynamic, engaging visual interaction with the relatively stationary presenter. I designed a matrix of LED screens controlled by multiple large-scale industrial robotic arms. This system was the heart of the stage and served as a 'reflector of thought' for each speaker. Through meticulous programming of the robotic arms' trajectories and the screens' configurations, the system could precisely echo the keywords, logical progression, and emotional cadence of each speech. At times, the arms would converge to form a massive, unified screen for grand narratives; at others, they would disperse, suspending fragments in mid-air to symbolize colliding ideas and bursts of inspiration; and they could also engage in nuanced, anthropomorphic interactions with the speaker. This was more than just a changing background; it transformed the stage into a real-time, tangible 'thought-architecture,' allowing the audience to truly 'see' the power and structure of language.
