DUNK OF CHINA Season1

For the first season of 'Dunk of China,' I designed an authentic, immersive street basketball park that captured the raw charm of the sport. This iconic visual identity was instrumental in the show's historic format sale to Fox Network Group, marking the first time a major U.S. network had acquired an original Chinese variety show format.

About
The Urban Playground
For the first season of 'Dunk of China,' my design was rooted in urban realism, dedicated to recreating the gritty texture and intense atmosphere of a real streetball court. The lighting design deliberately mimicked the multiple, blooming spotlights typical of an urban night court, completely blurring the line between set and reality. This immersive environment didn't just look authentic—it was engineered to ignite the raw passion and energy of the players. Ultimately, the power of this design was validated: the show's format, with this visual world at its core, was acquired by Fox Network Group. The deal made history as the first-ever purchase of an original Chinese variety show format by Fox Network Group, and indeed, by any major U.S. network, providing a powerful visual case study for the globalization of Chinese original content.
